Exploring the Art of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting at ESCE Confucius Institute

On October 10, ESCE Confucius Institute successfully held an open class for traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting. Both teachers and students from ESCE and INSEEC fully experienced the beauty of Chinese ink art.

The painting teacher firstly introduced the correct use of Chinese paintbrushes and rice paper; demonstrated ink color categories and ink painting techniques such as outlining, rubbing, splashing etc.; compared different textures formed by different painting methods on rice paper; emphasized the importance of the artistic conception, feel and charm during painting in the presentation of themes in Chinese calligraphy and painting works. Gradually, the students understood the interesting art of Chinese calligraphy and painting, indulging themselves in exploring the uniqueness of Chinese painting.

The Chinese calligraphy and Painting class aims to share the unique charm of Chinese art, enhance students’ enthusiasm for learning Chinese, and promote their understanding of the cultural diversity of the world.
