On June 8, the Confucius Institute at the École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur (ESCE) successfully held the HSK Chinese Proficiency Test at its Eiffel Tower Campus in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. The exam was conducted in six different rooms, covering HSK levels 1 through 6, with over 260 candidates from various cities across France participating. The youngest candidate was 6 years old, while the oldest was over 70. All candidates took the exam with enthusiasm, and the process was conducted in an orderly manner.

Both the Chinese and French directors of the Confucius Institute attached great importance to ensuring the smooth execution of the exam. Over the course of more than a month, the exam plan was continuously optimized, with responsibilities meticulously allocated and strict discipline enforced. This involved careful planning and organization across all stages, from pre-exam registration, document processing, and flow management, to the handling of test papers. Volunteers were mobilized to ensure the smooth running of the exam, providing each candidate with a positive testing experience. Additionally, two candidates required special accommodations, and the Confucius Institute created personalized exam plans for them. The institute’s detailed and professional exam services received widespread praise from the participants.

The HSK test center at the Confucius Institute of ESCE was established in 2007. It now holds three HSK exams annually and two Business Chinese Tests (BCT). The center has been recognized multiple times as an exemplary test site by the former Hanban and the Ministry of Education’s Language Center. It remains a global model test center, dedicated to promoting international Chinese education and providing French students with an expansive learning platform and rich academic resources. Moving forward, the Confucius Institute will continue to offer high-quality Chinese language instruction, empowering French learners of Chinese and enthusiasts of Chinese culture, while deepening Sino-French cultural exchanges.
