From March 16th to 17th, Christophe Boisseau, President of the École Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur (ESCE), and Li Jianle, French Dean of the Confucius Institute, visited our university. Wang Shaojun, Party Secretary of the university, and Zhang Hongxia, Vice President, met with the guests for discussions. Leaders from the university’s International Exchange and Cooperation Office, the School of International Economics and Trade, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Arts, and the School of Continuing Education also participated in the related activities.
Wang Shaojun warmly welcomed Christophe Boisseau and his delegation, and shared the recent achievements of the university. He highlighted that Shandong University of Finance and Economics (SDUFE) is the largest finance and economics university in China, with a deep cultural foundation rooted in Shandong and an open, global outlook. The university has contributed a significant number of talented graduates to both Shandong Province and the nation. Marking the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations, President Boisso’s visit and the establishment of the Confucius Institute will open a new chapter in the partnership between the two institutions. SDUFE is committed to building a comprehensive cooperative relationship with ESCE, offering a higher platform for collaboration between faculty and students from both schools.
Christophe Boisseau expressed his delight in visiting SDUFE again after five years and extended his heartfelt thanks for the warm reception. He congratulated SDUFE on its achievements in various fields, noting that ESCE’s main campus is located in Paris’s core business district, and that the school emphasizes international education, interdisciplinary studies, and the integration of industry and education. He stressed that the establishment of the Confucius Institute is the result of years of close cooperation between the two institutions and lays a strong foundation for deeper collaboration. Boisso expressed hope that the two universities will continue to complement each other’s strengths, forming a strong partnership and becoming a model for Sino-French higher education cooperation.
During the visit, Christophe Boisseau and his delegation held meetings with the School of International Economics and Trade, the School of Foreign Languages, and the School of Continuing Education to advance and finalize the details of related cooperative projects. They also toured the university’s Haidai Art Museum and IELTS Testing Center, and engaged in exchanges with SDUFE students and faculty.
