Every year, new training courses of all kinds are created and added to an already full catalog. In order to allow candidates to distinguish between these different training courses, the Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnels was created. It lists only the training courses recognized by the State and its social partners.
Generally speaking, registration in the RNCP of the courses and certifications offered by a school is a guarantee of quality. ESCE International Business School is one of the major schools whose courses and certifications are registered with the RNCP.

Understand what the RNCP is
What is the RNCP?
The Répertoire Nationale des Certifications Professionnelles or RNCP is a collection of diplomas, certificates or titles recognized by the State. This compendium was created in 2002 to facilitate the search and classification of qualifications and training.
What is the distinction between a diploma, a professional certification and an RNCP title?
The RNCP includes a large number of certifications among which are various diplomas, RNCP titles or professional certifications. In essence, the difference between these certifications lies in their purpose.
A diploma is mainly used to validate a level of study. On the other hand, an RNCP title and a professional certification validate the acquisition of professional skills.
What are the different levels of RNCP certification?
As of the 2019 reform, the RNCP consists of eight degrees of certification that are commonly referred to as RNCP levels. Each of these levels corresponds to an academic level.
The first level or level 1 corresponds to the mastery of basic knowledge. And level 8 includes all certifications at bac+8 level and above.
How do I know if a course is registered with the RNCP?
Which courses are automatically registered with the RNCP?
The training courses that can be registered with the RNCP are classified into two categories. On the one hand, there are training courses whose registration in the directory must be done upon request. And on the other hand, there are those who are registered by right.
A training course is automatically registered in the RNCP when it leads to a diploma delivered by the State and more precisely, by the Ministry in charge of National Education, Higher Education or by the Ministry in charge of Employment.
In short, all training courses leading to a state diploma are automatically registered in the RNCP.
Where to go to consult online the professional training courses registered in the RNCP?
New entries in the RNCP are always published in the Official Journal. However, there is a much easier way to find all the training courses registered in the RNCP. This one consists in going on the platform France Compétences.
France Compétences proposes the complete list of training courses and certifications registered in the RNCP with a description sheet for each of them. The search tool on the platform allows you to find a course by its title or level.
It is important to know that registration with the RNCP lasts a maximum of 5 years. Therefore, the registration of training and certifications must be renewed regularly. Thus, when looking for a training program, it is important to check its validity of registration with the RNCP.
The courses and certifications offered by ESCE International Business School are visible on the France Compétences platform.
What steps must a business school take to register its courses with the RNCP?
If a business school wishes to register its courses with the RNCP, it must make an application. Among other things, it will be necessary to compile a file that will be studied by a committee authorized to validate the registration.
In total, nine criteria are considered by the commission to determine if a training can be registered in the RNCP. Among these criteria is the adequacy of the training content to the targeted professional skills .
Why should I choose a training course registered with the RNCP?
In France, there is a very large number of training courses among which it is difficult to find one’s way. However, only a portion of these training courses and therefore of the targeted certifications are recognized by the State and its social partners.
By choosing a training program that is registered with the RNCP, candidates have the guarantee that it will be recognized throughout France. In addition, the registration of a training course in the directory means that it is in line with the targeted professions .
What is the difference between the RNCP and the Specific Directory?
The specific directory is the new name of the ” RNCP inventory” brought by the January 2019 reform. This directory is dedicated to the authorizations and certifications that correspond to professional skills that are complementary to the professional certifications .
