As the name suggests, import-export is an international trade operation involving two or more countries. It is a process of buying and selling goods between companies in different countries. The main purpose of import-export is to sell products from one country and buy products from another country. Discover ESCE’s international bachelor’s degree in international business
The international bachelor’s degree in international business from ESCE is acquired in three years of study after the baccalauréat. It is a diploma of Bac+3 level. During three years, you will study the basics of international trade: concept, current law, marketing, communication, finance, etc. The training will be bilingual (French and English). This has been set up to help you master all the mechanics of import-export and to apprehend the world of the International. Several specializations are offered in the third year, such as the International Business specialization.
Export management specialization in the Grande Ecole program
ESCE’s Grande École Program trains international business professionals in five years. In the fourth and fifth years, students choose a specialization from among the eight offered. In particular, they can opt for the Export Management specialization. This specialization provides students with a global and strategic vision of the world of imports and exports. The training provided will be based on market analysis (in real time), risk identification and the adoption of strategies to deal with the competition. Also, the courses will be in English.
Supply chain management specialization in the Grande Ecole program
In the Master’s program of the Grande École, students can also choose the Supply Chain Management specialization. This specialization focuses more on logistics and supply chain (inventory and quality management). It prepares students to become supply chain managers, logistics consultants or import-export managers. To this end, the import-export training will be given entirely in English and will be more focused on practice.

Roles and missions of an import-export assistant
The role of an import-export assistant is to help his clients in the import-export process. He/she is responsible for ensuring that all legal requirements are met, contacting suppliers and distributors to obtain materials for an event, checking for any delays or changes in orders, and monitoring the status of all invoices. The assistant also interacts with sales and purchasing staff. In addition to these tasks, the global import and export environment is assessed.
Become a salesman after an import-export training
After obtaining your international bachelor’s degree, you can also work as a sales representative. With import-export training, it will be easier for you to understand sales techniques such as negotiation skills and building relationships with customers. How to finance your import-export training?

- Scholarship: you can apply for a scholarship from the State of Higher Education. Note that there are conditions to qualify for this assistance;
- merit-based scholarship: depending on the grade obtained in the baccalaureate, you may be eligible for a merit-based scholarship, including a reduction in tuition fees ( -20% for honors and -30% for advanced standing);
- the excellence scholarship: it is granted according to the average obtained
in the SESAME competition.
What are the prerequisites to start an import-export training?
To start a training program in import-export, you must have the required diploma according to the chosen program. As with any school, an application form must be completed and submitted to the admissions department of your school. You must also have an online administrative record and update it regularly.
